Shriner's FundraiserJack & Earline Dawes and many friends are bringing back another vintage jazz celebration to help raise funds for the Al Kader Shriners and the worthy work they do providing care for children and families in need. You'll hear many fine ensembles in a concert that goes like the wind. Black Swan is happy to contribute to the cause and will include Marilyn Keller, vocals; Rick Holzgrafe, cornet; Ron Leach, drums; John Bennett, piano; Steve Matthes, clarinet; Wayne Travillion, trombone; and Kit Johnson, tuba. |

Rose City Blues FestivalRose City Blues is a non-profit, community-developed dance event, brought to you by the Portland Blues and Jazz Dance Society. They sponsor an annual Blues dance weekend, with an abundance of magnificent live music, three showstopping competitions, 2 days of wondrous workshops, and DJs playing all night ‘till you drop. This year the Black Swan Sextet is pleased to join the festivities to present arrangements of classics by noteworthy pioneers such as Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey, Ethel Waters and more. The ensemble includes Marilyn Keller, vocals; Rick Holzgrafe, cornet; Ron Leach, drums; John Bennett, piano; Steve Matthes, clarinet; and Kit Johnson, tuba. Seaside Jazz FestivalWhen the coastal destination town of Seaside puts on a jazz festival they go all out! High caliber performers include your own Black Swan CJB, High Sierra, Tom Rigney, Dave Bennett, Uptown Lowdown and many more. Sites are in easy walking distance from each other, as are many of the fine sightseeing locales, hotels and restaurants. We hope you'll join us. Vocalist Marilyn Keller, cornetist Rick Holzgrafe, drummer Ron Leach, banjoist Alan Phillips, clarinetist Steve Matthes, trombonist Don Stone, pianist John Bennett and minder of the big brass' spit valve Kit Johnson make up the lineup. |

Episcopal Church of the Good SamaritanBlack Swan is thrilled to return for another year as a featured artist at the Sundays afternoon concert series and to celebrate music in worship earlier in the day. James Moursund leads a terrific choir and outreach program through music to the Corvallis community. This is always an uplifting experience for the musicians and the audience/congregation. Join us.
